Thomas J. O'Dowd, M.D., A.B.O.S., A.A.O.S.#

Dr. O'Dowd graduated in 1975 from New York University where he was a NYU Scholar and Co-Captain of the swimming team. He attended Cornell University Medical College as a Hirschl Scholar and received his M.D. in 1979. He continued his education at the John Hopkins Hospital and served as a surgical intern and resident on the Halstead Surgical Service. He completed a three and a half year residency program at Hopkins Hospital, including a six month fellowship on the Hopkins Reconstructive Service of the Hand, Hip, Knee at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore.

Dr. O'Dowd joined South Jersey Orthopedic Associates in 1984. He performed the first arthroscopic surgery procedure at the West Jersey Hospital System in 1984. He also introduced instrumented spinal fusion to the system in 1985. His current practice includes Orthopedic Trauma, Arthroscopic Surgery of the Shoulder, Knee, Ankle, Wrist and Elbow, as well as Reconstructive and Joint Replacement Surgery of the Hip, Knee and Shoulder. In addition, Dr. O'Dowd performs spinal surgery including laminectomies, discectomies and fusions.

Dr. O'Dowd was voted Top Doc in Orthopedic Surgery by his peers (SJ Magazine) in 2003 & 2004.  He is the Chairman of Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Virtua - West Jersey Health System.  He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Philadelphia and New Jersey Orthopedic Societies. In addition, he is a member of the Camden County and New Jersey Medical Societies.






Jeffrey B. Daniels, M.D., A.B.O.S., A.A.O.S.^

Dr. Daniels graduated from Pennsylvania State University and graduated with honors from the Medical College of Philadelphia. He completed his Orthopedic Residency at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, VA. In addition, he also served a four month residency in Rehabilitation Medicine at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in California.

Dr. Daniels joined South Jersey Orthopedic Associates in 1990. His practice includes Orthopedic Trauma, Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine, Adult Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery, Workers' Compensation, Independent Medical Examination and Personal Injury.

Dr. Daniels was voted Top Doc in Orthopedic Surgery by his peers (SJ Magazine)  in 2003, 2007 & 2008.  He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical and Eastern Orthopedic Associations. In addition, he is a member of the Philadelphia and New Jersey Orthopedic Societies, as well as the Camden County and New Jersey Medical Societies.






Merrick J. Wetzler, M.D., A.B.O.S., A.A.O.S.*

Dr. Wetzler graduated from Yale University during which he was an All-Ivy League wrestler and won a gold medal at the Maccabiah Games. He continued his education at Temple University School of Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Residency at Boston University. After finishing his residency, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Medical Center, the Rothman Institute and Lankenau Hospital & Medical Research Center. Dr. Wetzler has assisted in the team coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Wings, as well as Rowan University during his fellowship. Dr. Wetzler joined South Jersey Orthopedic Associates in 1995.

Dr. Wetzler has been voted Top Doc in Sports Medicine by his peers in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2008 (SJ Magazine).  He was a Co-Director of Virtua's Sports Medicine Program.  He is the Medical Chairman/Director  for Team USA in the 2009 International Maccabiah Games as well as being the Associate Medical Director for Team USA in the 2005 International Maccabiah Games and Medical Director for Team USA in the 2007 Eurpopean Maccabiah Games. He is a member of  the United States Rugby Union Medical and Safety Committee and is or was the team Orthopedic Surgeon for Rutgers-Camden University, Eastern Camden County Regional High School, PembertonTownship High School, Cherry Hill West High School, the Jersey Wahoos Swim Team and South Jersey Rugby Football Club.  Dr. Wetzler is also an Editorial Board for Arthroscopy:  The Journal or Arthroscopy and Related Surgeries.

Dr. Wetzler specializes in Sports Medicine, Shoulder and Knee Reconstruction, Orthopedic Trauma and General Orthopedics. Dr. Wetzler is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, United States Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Society, American Medical Association, as well as the Camden County and New Jersey Medical Societies.






Robert R. Bachman, M.D., F.A.C.S., A.B.O.S., A.A.O.S.

Dr. Bachman is chief of Orthopedic Surgery, West Jersey Health System. Dr. Bachman is a graduate of Wesleyan University and continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He completed the Orthopedic Residency at Temple University.

Dr. Bachman joined South Jersey Orthopedic Associates in 1974. Prior to this, he spent two years in the US Navy, with service in Vietnam. Upon his return he was an Assistant Professor at Temple University. He practiced and taught there, as well as St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in Philadelphia.

Dr. Bachman's current practice includes Orthopedic Trauma, Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, problems of the Spine and Feet, Sports Medicine, Pediatric Orthopedics, Independent Medical Examination, Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury.

Dr. Bachman is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Camden County and New Jersey Medical Societies.
